I have a confession to make. I am a ‘Fate/Stay Night’ fan. It is one of my favorite anime series of all time, and I suppose that’s why I enjoy seeing it get the proper recognition for what it deserves by its fans -and also because it can help get more people interested in the Fate franchise as a whole.
Fate/Stay Night along with the other Fate anime series that have aired (Fate/Zero, Fate/Apocrypha) are all adaptations of the Fate franchise’s visual novel property. The Fate anime series are all produced by Type-Moon and studio Deen, with the exception of ‘Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, which is a co-production between Type-Moon, Aniplex, and ufotable.
The Fate anime series are all based on the same story, but with different characters and plot points. However, they all generally follow the same storyline – with some exceptions of course. If you’re new to the Fate series, I would recommend watching ‘Fate/Zero’ before watching ‘Fate/Stay Night’. ‘Fate/Zero’ is a prequel series that tells the story of how all seven servants came to be summoned by their respective masters, and also details the power struggles between all the players who are now in one way or another entangled with each other.
The Fate franchise’s anime adaptation has received quite a bit of praise over the years. In particular, the ‘Fate/Zero’ anime series was praised for its well-done story, animation, and music. In an alternate universe from the original series, Kaleid Majestic is set in a magical girl format where protagonist Illya focuses on. The anime has four seasons and more are on the way focusing heavily upon her character development as she grows up before our eyes to become one of Japan’s most renowned witch hunters at just 12 years old!
11. The Promised Neverland
The Promised Neverland is a show about a group of kids who live in an orphanage. They are all adopted by the same family and have been raised there since they were infants. The catch is that they will all be killed on their 12th birthday – that’s why they call it the “Promised Neverland”.
One day, a young girl named Emma discovers that the orphanage isn’t what it seems – and that her “parents” are actually monsters who plan to kill her and all of her friends. Emma and her friends must find a way to escape the orphanage before they’re killed.
The Promised Neverland is a great show with an interesting premise. It’s one of the best new anime series out there, and I highly recommend watching it.
10. Fate/Apocrypha
Fate/Apocrypha is a spin-off type of show that takes place in the Fate universe. It’s about a war between two rival factions consisting of seven different mage families. They both have a total of fourteen mages on their side – so each family has its own Servant.
The story follows the Black Faction, which is led by Jack the Ripper. They’re up against the Red Faction, which is led by Yggdmillennia. The two factions are fighting for control over the Holy Grail.
Fate/Apocrypha is a great show with an interesting premise. It’s one of the best new anime series out there.
9. Fate/Zero: Best FATE Anime Series
Fate/Zero is a prequel to Studio Deen’s 2006 adaptation of ‘Fate/Stay Night’. It tells the story of Kiritsugu Emiya before he became an infamous “hero”. He sets out on his journey with Saber, just like in the original ‘Fate/Stay Night’.
The story is set ten years before the events of Fate/Stay Night. It follows Kiritsugu Emiya – a mercenary who’s trying to become a hero by becoming one of seven Masters – and winning the Holy Grail.
Fate/Zero has an interesting story, great characters, and beautiful animation. It’s one of the best anime series out there, and I highly recommend watching it.

Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is a short anime series that tells a story about a meal cooked by Shirou and his father. It’s a humorous show, and it even includes characters from other Studio Deen Fate animes.
The animation is quite good, despite being somewhat simplistic. The art style looks nice and clean, and the food looks delicious.

4. Fate/Grand Order – The Day After Lion King
The short film is about Artoria and Jeanne traveling to an alternate version of 2016 where Artoria never became king, and thus Jeanne didn’t become a servant.
It has great characters, beautiful animation, and it tells an interesting story.
It’s a must-watch if you like the Studio Deen Fate anime series.
3. Fate/Extra Last Encore: Best FATE Anime Series
The show is set in a parallel world where the Grail War never happened. It follows Hakuno Kishinami, who is chosen by the Servant Saber to compete in the Holy Grail War.
The show is action-packed and well-animated. It has great characters and a great story. If you’re looking for a good anime to watch, then I recommend checking out Fate/Extra Last Encore.
2. Lord El-Melloi II’s Case Files {Rail Zeppelin} Grace note
The show is set after the events of Fate/Zero. It follows Waver Velvet, who is now a master in his own right. He travels to London to take on a challenging case.
The show is well-animated and has great characters. It’s one of the best anime series out there, and I highly recommend watching it.

Carnival Phantasm is a fun show that tells all kinds of comedic stories. While they’re not canon, most of the events in the show have happened in some way or another during the Fate series.
The show is well-animated and very funny. Most of the characters interact with each other differently than they do in the main series, which makes for some interesting comedy.
Carnival Phantasm is a must-watch if you like the Studio Deen Fate anime series.
