You play as Baton, little tadpole. After escaping from the Frog Saw, Baton tries to find his way back after an encounter with a large stork. Being a helpless tadpole is no easy task for Baton. How Baton must swim in dangerous encounters with fish and many other things that seem much bigger and scarier than the size of a tadpole!
We all know that music plays a big part in most games, it’s there in the background, waiting to sneak forward in times of drama. The music of Tadpole Treble Encore is essentially a game. Each level of the game is a complete piece of music, and you will enjoy it because each piece is a treat to listen to, but you will learn more about the music later.

Avoiding obstacles
Each level is organized like a sheet of music, which means the obstacles you have to avoid with Baton are notes. The music of a certain level determines the classification with which you must negotiate with the baron. Some music tracks are slower rhythms with fewer notes, other tracks are in a faster rhythm with more notes.
When moving Baton, you should try to avoid damage, collecting pink bubbles and pink food drops for Baton. The tadpole can also wave its tail at certain level elements to accompany the song with a clap or a pelvis. At the top of the screen is a high-frequency indicator that, when filled, makes Baton temporarily invincible and allows you to earn extra points.

Getting a high score
The overall goal is to reach the end of the level with as many points as possible. There are unlockable bonuses for collecting bubbles and for completing certain tasks in each level. For example, find a challenge at each level that requires you to perform a certain task to achieve it.
The bubbles you collect in each level can be exchanged for a big bullfrog called Study for bonuses like a sound test mode, tips for collecting flight challenges, an enemy and obstacle bestiary, and other goodies. The study also gives advice from time to time, and it can be quite humorous. Completing missions and unlocking the final mission allows the game to continue long after the stick has been returned to safe harbor.

100% at any level
At the end of each level, you will receive a score from F to S based on the number of bubbles you have collected and your total score. This gives the game some longevity, as the finalists will likely try to reach 100% in each level. There’s so much going on it’s hard to keep up with everything, but it’s a great experience.
Since this is a game of rhythm, your reflexes are the key to success. Certain movements must be performed in the blink of an eye. Baton has a health bar that can be replenished, but I had to restart the level a few times. The game is definitely challenging, but that’s what makes it so engaging and very entertaining.

Create your own songs.
Like all good games of this style, it’s easy to master, but it takes time and effort to really get the hang of it and reach the big leagues. For those who like to compete, the scoring system at the end of each level is sure to scratch the surface of the competition. I definitely watched a replay of the levels in hopes of improving my score, which I did after a while.

If it’s too much for you trying to save Baton, you can pause and try compose mode. In Composition mode, you can compose your own songs using all the tools at your disposal. You can choose one of the different instruments and adjust the tempo of the song to your liking. I’ve played with this mode, and for someone who doesn’t like to make his own music, I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Even repeating my failed attempts to compose something beautiful was very funny.

Graphics, Controls and Pretty Music
The story is told through music, songs and fantastic scenes, and is very entertaining and charming. All music pieces are original compositions and are unique at every level. Some songs are accompanied by vocals and all songs sound fantastic. There isn’t a single song in the game that I don’t like, they all sound equally good.
Each song sounds different, but they all create the same feeling – a good feeling with good kicks. Tadpole Treble Encore features dozens of songs with battles sung entirely by the song’s bosses.

A few words
The vocal tracks are incredibly catchy and can easily get stuck in your head. After playing the game for a while, I got so caught up in the catchy tunes that I searched online for the game’s soundtrack and was happy to find it. You can download songs from Spotify or iTunes. I now have a new game soundtrack to listen to on my iPhone! A word of advice: It is best to play this game with headphones, because then you can really hear every sound and machine noise that the game has to offer.
Operation is very simple, just use the control stick to guide the stick and the A button or the button on the right shoulder to turn the tail. It works well, and it’s a shame I can’t say that for my playing time.
Completion
I believe that a rhythm game is only as good as the songs in it, and Tadpole Treble Encore does not disappoint in that regard. It’s a fun, engaging game, and very cute and charming. The composition mode adds an almost unlimited amount of content and gameplay options to the game.
Tadpole Treble Encore is a game you play with a smile. You can feel the love that the developers, Matthew and Michael Taranto, put into their game. Those who have read so far probably won’t be surprised (thank you) that I’m giving Tadpole Treble our best score again….
