Claymore is a manga series by Norihiro Yagi. The series initially premiered in the now defunct Monthly Shōnen Jump in the May 2001 issue, but was moved to one of their sister magazines, Jump Square, in November 2007.
The setting takes place in a medieval world where humans co-exist with creatures called Yoma, monsters that feed on humans. These creatures possess the ability to take on human appearance, and are known as Youma, or sometimes Ayakashi if they are particularly powerful. The only known opposition to these man-eating demons are half-human, half-Youma hybrids known as Claymores, which are produced by the organization of the same name.
Claymore is currently published in English by Viz Media in its Shonen Jump imprint. An anime adaptation was made by Madhouse and premiered in Japan on April 3, 2007.
Hellsing is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano. It first started serialization in Young King OURs in May 1997 and ended on September 2008. The individual chapters were collected and published into ten tankōbon volumes by Shōnen Gahosha.
The series chronicles the efforts of the mysterious and secret Hellsing Organization, as it combats vampires, ghouls, and other supernatural foes who threaten England. It also follows the members of the Van Helsing family, from which the organization draws its name.
Hirano began publishing chapters of a prequel series, Hellsing: The Dawn, in two installments in December 2008.

Devil May Cry is a hack and slash action-adventure video game series developed by Capcom and created by Hideki Kamiya. Originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom’s Resident Evil series, in development, it became such a radical departure from the series’ style that it was developed into a new property entirely.
The series centers on the main character Dante’s goal of avenging his mother’s murder by exterminating demons. Akame ga Kill! is a Japanese shōnen manga series created by Takahiro and illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro. It started serialization in the April 2010 issue of Square Enix’s Gangan Joker, sold on March 20, 2010. The story focuses on Tatsumi, a young villager who travels to the Capital to raise money for his home only to discover strong corruption in the area. The series received an anime adaptation that premiered on July 7, 2014 and ended on December 15, 2014. A live action film based on the series was released in Japan on August 8, 2015.
6. Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump between September 2011 and September 2014, and it has been collected in fourteen tankōbon volumes as of August 2014. A sequel titled Tokyo Ghoul:re was serialized in the same magazine between October 2014 and July 2018, and was later collected into sixteen tankōbon volumes. The series is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, creatures that look like normal people but can only survive by eating human flesh, live among the human population in secrecy, hiding their true nature to evade pursuit from the authorities. The main character, Ken Kaneki, is an ordinary college student until a violent encounter turns him into the first half-human half-ghoul hybrid. Trapped between two worlds, he must survive Ghoul turf wars, learn more about Ghoul society and master his new powers.

5. Black Butler
Black Butler is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. Since its debut on September 16, 2006, it has been serialized in Square Enix’s shōnen manga magazine Monthly GFantasy. The series follows Ciel Phantomhive, the thirteen-year-old head of the Phantomhive family, an aristocratic family known as the Queen’s Guarddog.
He is tasked with solving crimes in London’s underworld. Ciel has formed a contract with Sebastian Michaelis to seek revenge against those who tortured him and murdered his parents.
Black Butler follows the adventures of Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler who is obligated to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the young head of the Phantomhive noble family, due to a contract he made with Ciel. In exchange for Sebastian’s services, Ciel promises to give him his soul when he dies. Sebastian is completely devoted to this task and considers it his only reason for existing. The demon takes on the appearance of a tall, handsome adult with black hair, red eyes, and pale skin.

Death Note is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The story follows Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook from a Shinigami named Ryuk that grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose face he knows, by writing the victim’s name in the notebook.
The series centers around Light’s attempts to create and rule a world “cleansed of evil” as “God” using the notebook, and the efforts of a detective known as L to stop him.
3. Darker than Black
Darker Than Black is one of the few anime out there that deals with world domination and other serious topics like those found in Berserk. This is a great way of creating some dark themes that are dark but also interesting. That being said, it is not as violent as Berserk or anything like that but it’s still worth your time if you’re looking for an anime similar to Berserk in style or plotline.
There are many reviews on this site that talk about how the story and characters are similar to those found in Berserk but I have never seen this series myself so I cannot give my own opinion on it just yet.

High School of the Dead is an anime about a group of high school students who must survive a zombie apocalypse.
The story opens with Takashi Komuro, who finds himself in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. As he fights his way through the zombies to reach his friend Rei Miyamoto, they meet up with their other friends Saya Takagi and Kohta Hirano. The four of them escape to the roof top where they witness the people in their school being massacred by the zombies. When a group of survivors flees to the roof top as well, they decide to make an escape together.

Code Geass is an anime series created by Sunrise, directed by Gorō Taniguchi, and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by manga authors Clamp.
Set in an alternate timeline, the series follows the exiled prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who obtains the “power of absolute obedience” from a mysterious woman named C.C. With this ability, Lelouch can get anyone to do as he wills. Using this power, Lelouch sets out to destroy his father’s empire and create a better world where Nunnally can live happily.
